ROOT SPORTS TO TELEVISE NETWORK RECORD 12 PIRATES SPRING TRAINING GAMES IN 2016

PITTSBURGH PIRATES SPRING TRAINING PRESENTED BY McDONALD’S
BEGINS ON REGIONAL SPORTS NETWORK MARCH 4TH VS. MINNESOTA TWINS

ROOT SPORTS  announced today the regional sports network will broadcast a network record 12 Pittsburgh Pirates spring training games prior to the start of the 2016 Major League Baseball regular season.  The 12-game schedule begins Friday, March 4th with the team’s game against the Minnesota Twins at the Pirates spring training home, McKechnie Field in Bradenton, Florida.  Select spring training games will begin with a 30-minute Pirates Pregame presented by W.B. Mason and conclude with a 30-minute Pirates Postgame presented by Allegheny Health Network.  See below for a complete schedule.

In addition, ROOT SPORTS  will air exclusive Pirates programming prior to the start of the season such as new episodes of Inside Pirates Baseball, including a Spring Training special and 2016 Season Preview, and Pirates Playback, the rebroadcast of a memorable 2015 Pirates game every Sunday night through February 28th.
