NORTH ALLEGHENY VS. UPPER ST. CLAIR LIVE THIS FRIDAY ON ROOT SPORTS

Playoff coverage of ROOT SPORTS' 17th season of McDonald’s High School Football presented by TRIB Total Media continues this Friday with a live Quad-A Quarterfinal match-up between the North Allegheny Tigers and the Upper St. Clair Panthers.

By securing their first undefeated season in school history last year, the North Allegheny Tigers also became the first team in Western Pennsylvania history to win three consecutive Quad-A titles.  Despite losing nearly every starter from the 2012 season, the Tigers have gone 7-3 and played some of their best football over the past few weeks, shutting out their last two opponents.

Led by legendary head coach Jim Render, the undefeated Upper St. Clair Panthers are primed for another run at a Quad-A title.  The Panthers’ strength lies within their defense, who’ve allowed less than five point per game this season. Revenge also plays a factor in Friday night’s game, as the Panthers’ last trip to Heinz Field ended in an overtime loss to the North Allegheny Tigers during the 2011 WPIAL Championships.

Fans can watch these two teams meet at Baldwin Stadium Live in High-Definition at 7:30PM on ROOT SPORTS. Check your local listings for channel information.
