ROOT SPORTS ADDS ADDITIONAL PIRATES GAME
TO 2012 TV SCHEDULE

WEDNESDAY NIGHT'S TELECAST MARKS ROOT SPORTS HIGHEST RATED PIRATES GAME

ROOT SPORTS™, the exclusive rights holder of Pittsburgh Pirates regional telecast announced today it will now televise Thursday, August 16 Pirates game that was not originally on the 2012 broadcast schedule.  Coverage of the Dodgers vs. Pirates game will start with Pirates Pregame presented by TRIB Total Media at 3:30PM.  Live Coverage of the game begins at 4:05PM with the first pitch, immediately followed by Pirates Postgame presented by Allegheny Sports Medicine.
 
ROOT SPORTS garnered its highest MLB rating Wednesday, August 8 with the Pirates win over the Arizona Diamondbacks, according to Nielsen Media Research.  The game which averaged an 11.46 HH rating, was viewed by more than 330,000 fans in the Pittsburgh DMA.  Nine of the Top 10 and fifteen of the Top 20 highest rated MLB games on the regional sports network have occurred this 2012 baseball season to date.
